Our Church and Our Ministry
Zion Lutheran Church began sometime in the early 1700s by a group of German farmers that lived along the Schuylkill River. The church officially organized in 1743 with the help of The Reverend Doctor Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, whom is considered to be the father of American Lutheranism. Our history is long and interesting, but we believe that our future is even more exciting.
- We are a community of Christians who believe that we are called to share God’s renewing love for the world.
- We believe in second chances and that anyone can start over again, with a new opportunity to live life fully.
- We believe that God calls us to love and serve our neighbors.
- We are eager to serve our community in new and creative ways as we share our faith in God and proclaim our hope for the future.
Among the neighbors that we are eager to serve, we are very aware of the young people of our community. We believe that it is our privilege and duty to help teach and shape the lives of tomorrow’s leaders through our extended outreach in the Zion Lutheran Preschool. We are very conscious of the trust that is afforded us by the parents of the preschool students and always seek your help in learning how we can best serve your children and families.
